i just watch anime. i have no opinion on it.

Meh, I dislike anime, for good reasons (yes, I have seen a good portion of them) and a good portion of them are annoying.

I'm surprised that Haruhi hasn't been mentioned much yet. Granted, I haven't seen it, but it looks fantastic! Does anyone know when and where it's on?

I like a few anime shows. The english dub of Naruto makes me want to kill myself, whereas any manga series I read draws me in. Except for Yugi oh. That's REALLY stupid crap.

No. You are not calling Lucky Star real anime. You cannot be serious. Real anime are things that are classic, like Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, even the original pokemon. But Lucky Star cannot be called real anime. Real anime involves plot, no random shit that is funny as in 'lolol0l random teh funnich kekekek'.

Also, I love all the haters out here that 'hate' Naruto, while the only reason they say that is because the majority of NG says it. Naruto is quite an enjoyable show, if you don't count all the filler episodes.

It's ok, I watch it on occasions, but I'm not a huge fan of it.

I like the ones that are meant to be funny/peverted (FLCL, Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei) I enjoy japanese humor.

I'm suprised I havent thrown in my two cents yet.

Anime in general isn't my favorite genre or style. I prefer American cartoons more still in this day and age and with the decline of my favorite series with each OVA expansion or spin-off I lose more faith in the series and am upset its no longer in good hands. But then again I find animes decline in quality or watchability the longer they last.

I find anime is stronger in the story department than most, if not all American cartoons, such as Simpsons, Family Guy, Chowder, etc. Not much story or character development this side of the Pacific. And if these shows go on too long, they may recycle jokes or become a ghost of their former self.

But I still have my favorites (Tenchi, Gundam Wing, and few others) and enjoy them as much as Flapjack or Drawn Together. It's just that... like Hollywood in recent years, sometimes a good thing can't stay dead or untouched. And it's very noticable.

Damn, I'm Japanese and I'm tired of anime. When you've lived in America, anime is over shown. If you've ever been to Japan, we have different types of cartoons! Amazing, i know.

It has been said before but I'll say it again: You can't generalize that much. Saying that you like anime is like saying that you like movies. There's a lot of different ones. Some I think kick ass, like Death Note and Trigun, and some I just couldn't watch, like Yakitate Japan and Naruto.

In conclusion, it depends on what type of anime it is.

Deathnote is one of my favorite as well, the storyline is genius and unexpected
i can understand if u hate yakitate japan the story is nothing but to bake bread anytime

It's not directed at the under-18 audience though, so it is for more mature audiences. Just because it is viewed by someone under the age that is shown on the box doesn't mean it's aimed at that audience, it means that they get the benefit of watching it for certain reasons. I mean, I know this isn't Anime, but I was watching Bottom (Wiki that bitch) since I was 5.

I've browsed the thread a bit, and I noticed how Death Note has become a guilty pleassure to me. Every time someone says it's their favourite anime, i reach for the reply button to say its overrated, while it was actually the series that got me into anime, and I still think it is pretty neat.
